It is a legal requirement to insure your car to protect other road users of your reckless and carefree behaviour - You are not recless and carefree? Oh, sorry. Insurance is to protect you then from others recklessness. There is an argument that insurers take advantage of the legal requirement by making third party car insurance policy prices unreasonably high, I personally concur with this argument. I repeat, (see home page) the cost for an 18 year old to insure a car in his/her own name is disproportionate bordering on ridiculous. The profits insurance companies make are grossly inflated, especially when you consider their customers are paying for a service they hope to never have to make use of. It is truly a strange business to be in. By comparing insurance online there are real savings to be made. There are specialist policies for the over 50's and over 60's and there are even insurance policies to protect your No Claims Bonus should you need to make a claim.... (I scratch my head)... Insurance companies are in business to make money, but as customers, the people who provide the money, we can collectively take control of the level of profit margins by regularly comparing insurance policies and regularly changing insurers. However, when comparing insurance I suggest we compare insurance with at least three different compare websites as a compare insurance website is limited in its efficiency by the amount of insurers it has registered. You see, all these compare insurance website businesses are each taking a sizeable cut of the premium YOU pay...
